Well it's that time again. Time when I, Dave Thurlow, host of The Weather Notebook, ask you to put your weather thinking caps on and take a stab at a question having to do with everyone's favorite subject....sports. Just kidding...the weather, of course. And remember, this isn't just a test of your knowledge, you can actually get some cool stuff. That's right, a Weather Notebook poster or even a mug can be yours just by calling or sending us an email with your answer. But before that, here's today's Brainstorm. We humans have a normal body temperature of 98.6 degrees F. We most likely feel OK when our body is at that temperature. But when the outside temperature is at 98.6 degrees, we feel pretty uncomfortable. Today's Brainstorm, then, is why? Why do we feel so uncomfortable when the outside temperature is 98.6 degrees, even though the temperature inside our body is 98.6 degrees? Let us know what you think. You can give us a call toll free at 1-888-RAIN-001. That's 1-888-RAIN-001. You can also send us an email, by visiting our website, which is mountwashington.org. But the best way is to call in and leave your answer on the machine. Everyone who calls or writes, receives a Weather Notebook poster. And if we use your answer on the air, you'll receive a Weather Notebook magic mug. Again, today's brainstorm question: considering normal body temperature is 98.6 degrees F, why do we feel so sticky when the air temperature is 98.6 degrees? So tell us how you feel, about how you feel. The Weather Notebook is produced by Bryan Sejvar, engineered by Sean Doucette and our Series Senior Editor is Jay Allison. Our show is underwritten by Subaru, the beauty of all wheel drive with major support provided by the National Science Foundation. |
